Feedback for first draft of music video
Our teacher gave us feedback of how we could possibly impreove our music video.
- Contemplated if the mug should be used
- 1.19 - blurry
- Shot of Nova in a dress is very pixelated and does not fit with the other shots, so we completely removed it.

- The shot at 2.23 needs to be longer
- At 1.31 the lip sync is off
- There are 3 weird shots - eyes, spoon, shivers, sofa shot dissolves
- 39.05 - lip syncing out

First draft evaluation
We presented the first draft of our music video to our class and we received a mixture of positive and critical feedback.
Here are some examples of positive feedback we received:
Here are some examples of positive feedback we received:
- "Lots of really nice editing."
- "I loved how the shots became distorted in correlation to the video."
- "There use of bright colours goes in hand with the nature of the song."
- "Editing flows well throughout - suits genre and her image."
- "360 with the dogs is very effective."
- "When is goes slower, I like how all visuals link with the pace."
- Creative and interesting shots that clearly show the artist image."
Here are some examples of critical feedback:
- "Some of the shots were used a few times."
- "Gets slightly repetitive at the end of the video."
- "Sometimes too many close ups lip synching."
- "Not many transitions, mainly straight cuts."
- "The shot with Nova on the sofa with the bubble bath image above didn't flow as well as the other editing."
- "Leg and fairy light shot is used quite a lot."
Website feedback - first draft
Feedback from first website draft
People in our class asked to evaluate the pros and cons of the Nova website:
+ Love the videos in the background of the homepage.
+ The transitions are really interesting
+ Clear synergy and colour scheme
+ Original use of video on home page
+ Matches artist image
+ Like the original layout of the gallery keeps the page interesting.
+ I like the effect used when you open a new subsection
+ Good variety of background images
- Gallery does not allow you click and enlarge the image
- Image under video tab seems poor quality
- Should the social media links be added to the 'connect' page.
- In the shop section, when a product is added to your cart it gives the user a zoomed image of the item.
With this feedback we will make these changes to the website.

Final digipak feedback
We received mainly positive feedback from our classmates about our digipack, however there was some slight critism about the top right hand corner. Here are some examples of what the feedback consisted of:
Using the lights links with the artist image entirely and makes them look edgy. All the colours are vibrant and shows the artist in a positive light. The use of the collage also gives the audience an insight into what the video will show and gives a mysterious vibe. Genre looks Pop. Maybe remove the middle band as this will be folded.
AMAZING
Colours all link well and the pictures are good
Looks really good. Top right could be improved I think its too much to have on there.
The colours and everything go together Nothing really to improve
Purple tint over all the pictures is nice, maybe change the top right to one picture not a collage
really like the bright colors, makes it stand out, some images in top right look squashed might look better if they were more square. The synergy matches the use of lights
Digipak feedback
Here is the feedback we received from our class, analysing our digipak...
+ "The images used on the digipak show the personality of the artist"
+ "The didpak suits the genre of music that are making a music video for and also fits in well with imagery they used in the video itself"
+ "Nice continuing colour scheme with good matching photos"

- "some photos are dark in quality and oversaturated"

3 song pitch
3 song pitch from Holly Connell
Feedback we received:
Consideration - Rihanna:
- Does not have a chorus so may be hard to keep the audience interested or keep a particular theme.
- Rihanna is black and everyone in our group is white so it would seem unrealistic to many people watching as the voice and appearance do not match.
- Since the song is by Rihanna, it may be had for the audience to detach from the image of Rihanna that goes along with her recognisable voice.
- This song could get boring since it is the same tempo all the way through and does not change much.
- Anyone in our group could play the main artist.
- This song has an interesting beat as it varies and it consists of a main chorus so there is lots of room for creativity.
- Could be both performance and narrative- based.
- Could be filmed outdoors and be very symbolic.
- Comparable to Kate Bush and Florence and the Machine for their quirky look.
- Has a very 70s vibe - comparable to bands like Jackson 5 but with a modern twist.
- Very colourful song, has a lot of room to be visually interesting, creative and colourful.
- Would include dancing
- Very performance based with strange twists to make it more alternative.
- Would have to have an iconic artist with lots of costume changes and alter egos.
- Lava lamps, disco balls, studio lights etc.
